The Newport—Shrewsbury Trunk Road A4042 (Croes-Y-Mwyalch Roundabout to Woodlands Roundabout) De-Trunking Order 199
The Secretary of State for Wales hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980, providing that part of the Newport to Shrewsbury Trunk Road in the county Borough of Torfaen, from and including the Woodlands Roundabout at the junction of Newport Road, Cwmbran Drive and Malpas Road and extending for 400 metres eastwards to the western edge of the Croes-y-Mwylach Roundabout, shall cease to be a trunk road as from the date on which this Order comes into force. Copies of the draft Order and of all relevant plans may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours from 13th January 1998 until 24th February 1998, or within 6 weeks from the date of publication of this notice, whichever period shall expire later, at the offices of Torfaen County Borough Council, Civic Offices, Pontypool, and at the Welsh Office, Highways Directorate, Cathays Park, Cardiff. Any person may not later than 24th February 1998, or within 6 weeks from the date of publication of this notice, if such period shall expire later, object to the making of the Order, by notice in writing to the Welsh Office Highways Directorate, Roads Administration Division, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF1 3NQ, quoting Ref. ZB 810060-314-1 and stating the grounds of objection. In the preparation of an objection and the statement of grounds of objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
