THE ELECTRICITY WORKS (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT)(SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2000

Notice is hereby given that Braemore Wind Limited, (company registration number 06998513, 7 Berkeley Square, Bristol, BS8 1HG) has applied to the Scottish Ministers for consent to construct and operate a Wind Farm at Braemore Wood (Central Grid Reference NC 540 015) and for a direction under Section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 that planning permission for the development be deemed to be granted. The installed capacity of the proposed generating station would be 54 MW comprising 18 turbines with a ground to blade tip height of 126 meters.

Braemore Wind Limited has now submitted to Scottish Ministers further information in the form of an addendum including updated noise and landscape assessments to the Braemore Wind Farm Environmental Statement.

Copies of the addendum supplementing the Environmental Statement has been provided explaining the Company’s proposals in more detail are available for inspection during normal office hours at

The Addendum can also be viewed at the Scottish Government Library at Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6QQ. A copy of the further information has been made available to the Highland Council for public inspection.

Copies of the addendum may be obtained from Braemore Wind Limited (0131 225 8545) at a charge of £190 hard copy and £2 on CD. Copies of a short non-technical summary are available free of charge.

Any representations should be made in writing to The Scottish Government, Energy Consents Unit, 4th Floor, 5 Atlantic Quay, 150 Broomielaw, Glasgow G2 8LU or emailed to representations@scotland.gsi.gov.uk identifying the proposal and specifying grounds for objection or support, not later than 21st December 2013 (28 days after the last advert date). Representations should be dated and should clearly state the name (in block capitals), full return email and postal address of those making representations. Only representations sent by email to the address stipulated will receive acknowledgement.

Fair Processing Notice

The Scottish Government Energy Consents and Deployment Unit process applications under The Electricity Act 1989. During the consultation process letters of representation can be sent to Scottish Ministers in support of or objecting to these applications.

Should Scottish Ministers call a Public Local Inquiry (PLI), copies of these representations will be sent to the Directorate of Planning and Environmental Appeals for the Reporter to consider during the inquiry. These representations will be posted on their website with personal email address, signature and home telephone number redacted (blacked out).

Copies of representations will also be issued to the developer on request, again with email address, signature and home telephone number redacted.

You can choose to mark your representation as confidential, in which case it will only be considered by Scottish Ministers and will not be shared with the Planning Authority, the developer, the Reporter (should a PLI be called) or any other third party.
