THE M9/A9 TRUNK ROAD (BARDRILL JUNCTION) (PROHIBITION OF SPECIFIED TURNS) ORDER 201[ ].

THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS hereby give notice that they propose to make the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) and 2(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prohibit traffic on the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road from a point 66 metres or thereby south of the extended south kerbline at the Bardrill Junction to a point 24 metres or thereby north of the extended south kerbline at the Bardrill Junction, a distance of 90 metres or thereby from making any of the following turns:

1.  All right turns from the northbound M9/A9 Trunk Road to the Bardrill Road.

2.  All right turns from the Bardrill Road to the northbound M9/A9 Trunk Road.

3.  All U turns from the northbound M9/A9 Trunk Road to the southbound M9/A9 Trunk Road.

4.  All U turns from the southbound M9/A9 Trunk Road to the northbound M9/A9 Trunk Road.

5.  All left turns from the Bardrill Road to the southbound M9/A9 Trunk Road.

6.  All left turns from the southbound M9/A9 Trunk Road to the Bardrill Road.

Traffic will be able to gain access to the Bardrill Road using the new roundabout and link road layout at the nearby Loaninghead Junction.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes.

Full details of the proposal are contained in the Order which, together with a plan showing the length of road involved and a statement of the Scottish Ministers’ reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined free of charge during normal business hours from 26th March 2010 until 16th April 2010 at the offices of Transport Scotland, Buchanan House, 58 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow, G4 0HF and at Perth and Kinross Council Library, Chapel Wynd, Auchterarder PH3 1BL.

Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send details of the grounds for objection in writing to Transport Scotland, Buchanan House, 58 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow, G4 0HF quoting reference MMC/Bardrill/M9 by 16th April 2010.
