THE A90/A956 (ABERDEEN WESTERN PERIPHERAL ROUTE) SPECIAL ROADS SCHEME
A90/A956 SPECIAL ROAD SCHEMES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Scottish Ministers have made the following Schemes under sections 7, 8(2) and 10(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984:-

1.  The A90 (Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route) Special Road Scheme 2010, the general effect of which will be to provide a Special Road from the existing A90/M90 Inverkeithing – Fraserburgh Trunk Road at Blackdog, Aberdeenshire, in a generally westerly direction for a distance of 9.45 kilometres or thereby, then in a generally southerly direction for a distance of 28.12 kilometres or thereby to the junction of the existing A90/M90 Inverkeithing – Fraserburgh Trunk Road and the B979 Stonehaven Newmacher Road (Netherly Road), Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire;

2.  The A956 (Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route) Special Road Scheme 2010, the general effect of which will be to provide a Special Road from the existing junction between the A90/M90 Inverkeithing – Fraserburgh Trunk Road and A956 Wellington Road at Charleston in a generally west south-westerly direction for a distance of 6.54 kilometres or thereby to connect with the road described at paragraph 1, at Cleanhill; and

3.  The A90 (Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route) (Craibstone Junction) Special Road Scheme 2010, the general effect of which will be to provide slip roads at the proposed Craibstone Junction to the existing A96 Aberdeen – Inverness Trunk Road to and from the road described at paragraph 1.

COPIES of the Schemes together with the relevant plans may be inspected, free of charge, during the hours of 09:00 hrs to 16:30 hrs from 22 January 2010 to 19 March 2010 (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays) at the offices of Transport Scotland, Buchanan House, 58 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow G4 OHF; and during normal business hours at the offices of Aberdeenshire Council, Woodhill House, Westburn Road, Aberdeen AB16 5GB; the offices of Aberdeen City Council, St Nicholas House, Broad Street, Aberdeen AB10 1AR; and the offices of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route Managing Agent, Aberdeen City Council, Willowbank House, Willowbank Road, Aberdeen AB11 6YG.

These Schemes cannot come into force until The Scottish Parliament, by resolution, approves them.

THE A90/A956 (ABERDEEN WESTERN PERIPHERAL ROUTE) SPECIAL ROADS SCHEME
A90/A96/A956 TRUNK ROAD ORDERS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Scottish Ministers have made the following Orders under section 5(2) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 (the Act), to provide for the construction of new lengths of trunk roads to form parts of the A90, A96 and A956:-

1.  The A90 (Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route) Trunk Road Order 2010, the general effect of which will be to provide additional roads, slip roads and roundabouts at the existing Stonehaven and Charleston junctions and the proposed junction at Blackdog;

2.  The A96 (Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route) Trunk Road Order 2010, the general effect of which will be to provide additional roads and roundabout at the proposed junction at Craibstone; and

3.  The A956 (Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route) Trunk Road Order 2010, the general effect of which will be to provide an additional length of trunk road at the existing Charleston junction.
