FLOOD PREVENTION (SCOTLAND) ACT, 1961
MILNATHORT FLOOD PREVENTION SCHEME 2009
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, In terms of Section 4 and the Second Schedule to the Flood Prevention (Scotland) Act, 1961 (as amended), that Perth and Kinross Council, being the applicable local authority within the meaning of the said Act for the purpose of preventing or mitigating the flooding of land in their area, not being agricultural land, intend to apply to the Scottish Ministers for confirmation of a Flood Prevention Scheme under Section 4(1) of the said Act, providing for the execution of certain works:
(i) Demolition of existing walls;
(ii) The construction of a new flood wall;
the purpose of which is to mitigate the flooding of residential and business properties and public roads in the Milnathort area of Kinross from the Back Burn.
A copy of the Scheme and relevant plan may be inspected without payment of fee at
1. Perth and Kinross Council, The Atrium, 137 Glover Street, Perth PH2 0HY, during the hours of 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., Mondays to Fridays inclusive;
2. Perth and Kinross Council, Kinross Area Office, 21-25 High Street, Kinross KY13 8AP during the hours of 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., Mondays to Fridays inclusive (office does not open until 11.00 a.m. on the first Thursday of every month)
for a period of three months from December 8, 2009.
Any person may, by notice to the Scottish Ministers, object to the confirmation of this Scheme. Any such objection should be sent within the above period to the Flooding Policy Team, Mailpoint 15, Scottish Government, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ.
