ELGIN FLOOD PREVENTION SCHEME 2007

The Moray Council hereby give notice under paragraph 2 of the Second Schedule to the above Act that the Council intend to apply to Scottish Ministers for confirmation of the above flood prevention scheme under section 4(1) of the Act.

There will also be localised works at Kirkhill and Pitgaveny. The scheme includes construction of flood defence walls and embankments, the creation of a new flood relief channel, the diversion of the Tyock and Linkwood Burn and the lowering of areas to create a channel to convey floodwater. The existing Old Bishopmill Bridge will be replaced and the Brewery Footbridge extended over the new relief channel. Pansport road bridge will be replaced.

The purpose of the scheme is to mitigate the flooding of properties in the town of Elgin.
