Notice is hereby given that a petition was presented on 16 June 2006 to the Court of Session, at the instance of Standard Life plc, a company incorporated under the Companies Acts and with its registered office at Standard Life House, 30 Lothian Road, Edinburgh (“the Company”) seeking inter alia an order confirming the reduction of the Company’s share premium account which was resolved upon by special resolution of the Company dated 30 May 2006. In that petition the Court made an order dated 19 June 2006 that the petition be advertised once in each of The Edinburgh Gazette and The Financial Times and Scotsman newspapers and that any person claiming an interest in the petition lodge Answers to it, if so advised, at the Office of the Court of Session, 2 Parliament Square, Edinburgh EH1 1RQ within 21 days of the last of those advertisements.
