Notice is hereby given that RWE Npower plc (whose Registered Office is at Windmill Hill Business Park, Whitehill Way, Swindon, Wiltshire SN5 6PB) has applied to the Scottish Ministers for consent to construct and operate a hydroelectric generating station at Inverlael (at NGR NH 1888 8545) near Ullapool in Highland Region. The installed capacity of the proposed generating station would be up to 3.0 MW.
RWE Npower plc has also applied for a direction under Section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 that planning permission for the development is deemed to be granted.
A copy of the application, with a plan showing the land to which it relates, together with a copy of the Environmental Statement discussing the developer’s proposals in more detail and presenting an analysis of the environmental implications, is available for inspection free of charge during normal office hours at:

Copies of the Environmental Statement may be obtained from the RWE Npower’s office at North Range, East Lodge, Mill Road, Stanley Mills, Stanley, Perthshire PH1 4QE, at a charge of £30. Copies of a short non-technical summary are available free of charge.
Any objections or representations to the application should be made in writing to Lesley Thomson, The Scottish Executive, Consents and Emergency Planning Unit, 2nd Floor, Meridian Court, 5 Cadogan Street, Glasgow G2 6AT (lesley.thomson@scotland.gsi.gov.uk) identifying the station and specifying the grounds for objection, not later than 27th May 2005. Individuals making a representation regarding this proposal should note that their letter or e-mail will be disclosed to any individual or body who requests sight of representations in respect of this proposal. If you do not wish your representation disclosed you should make this explicitly clear.
