NATURAL HERITAGE (SCOTLAND) ACT 1991
Application for a Drought Order
Notice is hereby given in terms of paragraph 1(2) of Schedule 8 to the Natural Heritage (Scotland) Act 1991 (“the 1991 Act”) that Scottish Water has made an application to the Scottish Ministers for an ordinary Drought Order under the powers conferred upon them under section 20 of the 1991 Act.
It is intended that the Order apply for a period of six months from the day on which the Order comes into operation. The Order is intended to authorise Scottish Water to abstract water from the River Isla, in Angus, at a quantity not exceeding 20,000 cubic metres per day, except when the flow in the River Isla drops below 242,350 cubic metres per day as measured at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency river gauging station at Wester Cardean, when abstraction will cease.
A copy of the draft Order and plan showing the area to be affected may be inspected by any person free of charge during the hours from 9.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday, at Scottish Water’s Offices at Bullion House, Invergowrie, Dundee, DD2 5BB and Castle House, 6 Castle Drive, Carnegie Campus, Dunfermline, KY11 8GG.
In terms of paragraph 4(c) of Schedule 8 to the 1991 Act, any objection to the application must be lodged within 7 days from the date on which this notice is published with:
