ROADS (SCOTLAND) ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that Aberdeen City Council proposes to make an order under Section 152(2) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 redetermining the means of exercise of the public right of passage over the road described in the schedule hereto.

The title of the Order is “The Aberdeen City Council (King George VI Bridge, Aberdeen) (Redetermination of Means of Exercise of Public Right of Passage) Order 2003.”

A copy of the proposed Order and of the accompanying plan showing the lengths of road over which the means of exercise of the public right of passage is to be redetermined, together with a statement of the reasons for making the Order, have been deposited at the offices of the Council’s Corporate Director for Environment and Infrastructure on the second floor of St. Nicholas House, Broad Street, Aberdeen. Those documents are available for inspection free of charge on any weekday from Friday, 6th June until Friday, 4th July 2003. Alternatively, you may wish to call Mr. Ross Stevenson - in the Council’s Traffic Operations Team at Aberdeen 522641 - who will be pleased to discuss the proposals and, if you wish, to send you the relevant papers and plan.

Any person may, within twenty-eight days from 6th June 2003, object to the making of the order by notice in writing to Crawford J. Langley, Corporate Director for Legal and Democratic Services, Aberdeen City Council, Town House, Broad Street, Aberdeen. Any objection should state (1) the name and address of the objector, (2) the matters to which it relates, and (3) the grounds on which it is being made.

Redetermination of the Means of Exercise of the Public Right of Passage over the following lengths of road in Aberdeen

Riverside Drive

That length of road (footway) in the north side of Riverside Drive from the southwest vehicle access to Duthie Park eastwards for a distance of 38m or thereby.

That length of road (footway) on the south side of Riverside Drive from the extended east kerbline of Great Southern Road eastwards for a distance of 40m of thereby.


Great Southern Road

That length of road (footway) on the east side of Great Southern Road from the extended south kerbline of Riverside Drive southwards then south-eastwards for a distance of 280m or thereby.


Provost Watt Drive

That length of road (footway) on the east side of Provost Watt Drive from a point 42m or thereby south of the extended south kerbline of West Tullos Road north-eastwards for a distance of 40m or thereby.


West Tullos Road

That length of road (footway) on the south side of West Tullos Road from a point 42m or thereby east of the extended east kerbline of Provost Watt Drive eastwards for a distance of 150m or thereby.

All as indicated on the plan annexed to this order and forming part of it.
