THE WEST LOTHIAN COUNCIL (PRESTON ROAD, LINLiTHGOW) (PROHIBITION OF ENTRY) AND (VARIOUS ROADS, LINLiTHGOW) (TRAFFIC REGULATION; PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF STOPPING AND WAITING AND PARKING PLACES) (VARIATION) ORDER 2003

The West Lothian Council on 21st March 2003, made the above mentioned Order which will come into effect on 28th March 2003. The effect of the Order will be two fold:
1. | To vary “The (Various Roads, Linlithgow) (Traffic Regulation; Prohibition and Restriction of Stopping and Waiting, and Parking Places) Order 1988” with the effect of imposing parking restrictions in the Preston road area and |
2: | To create a bus only turning circle on Preston Road . The proposals were stated in detail in Notice 1501/72 in the Edinburgh Gazette number 25222 dated 17th May 2002 and the Linlithgow Journal and Gazette of that date but, as a result of objections to the original proposals, the terms of the Order have been amended as follows: Lengths of restriction proposed but now completely deleted from the terms of the Order :- Preston Road east side - From points 30 metres and 143 metres or thereby south of the extended south kerbline of Preston Terrace southwards for distances of 63 metres and 52 metres or thereby respectively. Preston Road west side - From a point 143 metres or thereby south of the projected south kerbline of Preston Terrace for a distance of 52 metres or thereby southwards. In addition the length of road to be subject to restriction from a point 38 metres or thereby south of the projected south kerbline of Preston Terrace will now be for a distance of 12 metres or thereby southwards not 55 metres as proposed. |
A copy of the Order together with explanatory map, a copy of the press notice, a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order and the Order to be varied, may be examined during the period 27th March to 3rd May 2003 between the hours of 9.00 am and 4.30 pm Mondays to Fridays at West Lothian Council Headquarters, West Lothian House, Almondvale Boulevard, Livingston.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision made in it on the grounds that it is not with the powers confirmed by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any relevant regulation has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the above date of making apply to the Court of Session for this purpose.
