FRASER ROAD FLOOD PREVENTION SCHEME 2002
Notice is hereby given in terms of paragraph eight of the second schedule of the Flood Prevention (Scotland) Act 1961 (the Act) that the Fraser Road Flood Prevention Scheme 2002 has been made by Aberdeen City Council under Section 4 of the Act, and confirmed by the Scottish Ministers under paragraph seven of the second schedule of the Act on 26th September 2002.
The general effect of the Scheme is to mitigate flooding in the Fraser Road area of Aberdeen from the Gilcomston Burn. The range of flood defence measures include the provision of containment flood defences and a flow control chamber in Westburn Park to enable temporary surface storage of flood water in open space, the provision of a flood defence wall at Westburn Park, a flood defence wall on the west side of Gilcomston Burn at Woolmanhill, and a relief culvert to divert excess storm water at Maberly Street.
A copy of the Scheme and Plans may be inspected by any person, free of charge, at Aberdeen City Council’s offices, Environment And Infrastructure Services, 2nd Floor, St Nicholas House, Broad Street, Aberdeen, from Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5pm (Telephone Number: 01224 523037/522621).
Any person may, within six weeks from the date of the first publication of this notice, make an application to the Court of Session for an order suspending or quashing the scheme, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Act or that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with in relation to the making or confirmation of the scheme.
