THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (INDEMNITIES FOR MEMBERS AND OFFICERS) ORDER (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2012

The Department of the Environment has made a Statutory Rule entitled the “Local Government (Indemnities for Members and Officers) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012”, (S.R. 2012 No. 422), which comes into operation on 27 November 2012.

This Rule enables district councils to provide indemnities (including by means of securing the provision of an insurance policy) for any of its members and officers and sets out the cases in which indemnities may be given.
