THE SMOKE CONTROL AREAS (AUTHORISED FUELS) REGULATIONS (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2012

The Department of the Environment has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Smoke Control Areas (Authorised Fuels) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012” (SR 2012 No 399), which comes into operation on 5th December 2012.

The Rule specifies fuels that have been declared as authorised fuels, for the purposes of Article 2(2) of the Clean Air (Northern Ireland) Order 1981. It revokes and replaces with amendments the Smoke Control Areas (Authorised Fuels) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2011. Six additional fuels have been authorised and an amendment made to the previous entries for Briteheat briquettes and Stoveheat Premium briquettes which are now listed together.
