STOPPING-UP ORDER
THE PRIVATE ACCESSES A6 (LONDONDERRY TO DUNGIVEN) (STOPPING-UP) ORDER (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2011
The Department for Regional Development gives notice of its intention to make an Order under Article 69 of the 1993 Order, the effect of which would be to stop-up to road traffic a number of private accesses.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE VESTING ORDERS
The Department for Regional Development proposes to make 3 orders vesting certain lands in the Department under the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 1972 and The Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993.
A6 LONDONDERRY TO DUNGIVEN DUALLING SCHEME SECTION 1
CLOONEY ROAD/ CAW ROUNDABOUT TO MAYDOWN ROUNDABOUT
The Department proposes to acquire the lands to improve the existing A2 Clooney Road dual carriageway between Caw Roundabout and Maydown Roundabout and to construct a new at-grade roundabout to connect to the new A6 Londonderry to Dungiven dual carriageway.
A6 LONDONDERRY TO DUNGIVEN DUALLING SCHEME SECTION 2
MOBUOY ROAD TO DERRYCHRIER ROAD
The Department proposes to acquire the lands for the construction of a dual carriageway from Mobuoy Road, Londonderry, just south of Carmoney Road, bypassing Drumahoe and terminating just west of Derrychrier Road, Dungiven.
A6 LONDONDERRY TO DUNGIVEN DUALLING SCHEME SECTION 3
DERRYCHRIER ROAD TO CREBARKEY ROAD
The Department proposes to acquire the lands for the construction of a dual carriageway and to upgrade a stretch of the existing A6 Glenshane Road from just west of its junction with Derrychrier Road to just north-west of its junction with Crebarkey Road.
All documents and maps relating to the Scheme may be inspected by any person, free of charge, at all reasonable hours during the period from 14 December 2011 to 2 March 2012 at the Roads Service offices of:
• Northern Division, County Hall, Castlerock Road, Coleraine;
• Northern Division, 1 Crescent Road, Londonderry;
• Headquarters, Room 2-13, Clarence Court, 10-18 Adelaide Street, Belfast;
and at the offices of—
• Derry City Council, 98 Strand Road, Londonderry; and
• Limavady Borough Council, 7 Connell Street, Limavady;
and at—
• Dungiven Library, 107 Main Street, Dungiven; and
• Waterside Library, The Workhouse, 23 Glendermott Road, Londonderry.
Alternatively, an electronic version of the Environmental Statement (Non Technical Summary) is available for viewing at www.drdni.gov.uk/index/publications/publications
During this period, DVD electronic copies of the Environmental Statement for both parts of the project and further information can be obtained free of charge from Roads Service - Northern Division, County Hall, Castlerock Road, Coleraine. Alternatively, printed copies of the Environmental Statement for each part of the project can be purchased at a cost of £185 per part.
Any person who wishes to express an opinion on the Environmental Statement or to object to the making of any of the above orders must, on or before 2 March 2012, write to the Divisional Roads Manager, Department for Regional Development, Roads Service – Northern Division, County Hall, Castlerock Road, Coleraine BT51 3HS, stating their opinion on the Environmental Statement and/or the grounds of their objection to the proposed Orders. The Department will take into consideration any representations made before deciding whether or not to proceed with the project with or without modifications.
