THE SOCIAL FUND MATERNITY AND FUNERAL EXPENSES (GENERAL) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2010

The Department for Social Development has made a Statutory Rule entitled the Social Fund Maternity and Funeral Expenses (General) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010 (S.R. 2010 No. 378) which comes into operation on 13th December 2010.

The Rule extends entitlement to Sure Start Maternity Grants to additional groups of people who are on a low income and will also provide against double provision. It also amends the Social Security (Claims and Payments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987 to make minor consequential amendments to those Regulations as a result of these changes.
