Notice under Paragraph 8 of Schedule 16 to the Act

Notice is hereby given that Derbyshire Building Society, Register No. 165B, whose principal office is at Duffield Hall, Duffield, Derby, DE56 1AG desires to transfer its engagements to Nationwide Building Society, Register No. 355B, and that each society has applied to the Financial Services Authority (FSA), to confirm the transfer.

Notice is hereby given that Nationwide Building Society, Register No. 355B, whose principal office is at Nationwide House, Pipers Way, Swindon, SN38 1NW desires to accept a transfer of the engagements of Derbyshire Building Society, Register No 165B, and that each society has applied to the FSA to confirm the transfer.

Any interested party may make written representations to the FSA and/or give notice of intention to make oral representations to FSA with respect to the application. Written representations or notice of a person’s intention to make oral representations at a hearing should be received by the Financial Services Authority, 11th Floor, RFD, Banking & Mortgages Department, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS, marked “Derbyshire/Nationwide Merger” or by e-mail to eric.engstrom@fsa.gov.uk on or before 6 October 2008. If notice is given of oral representations these will be heard by the FSA on 22 October 2008, at a time and place to be determined by the FSA.
