NOTICE OF APPROVAL OF CODES OF PRACTICE FOR THEPURPOSES OF PROVIDING PRACTICAL GUIDANCE ON THE CONTROL ASBESTOS REGULATIONS (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2007 (S.R. 2007 NO. 31)

By virtue of Article 18(1) of the Health and DSafety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order 1978, and with the consent of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, being the Department concerned (“the Department”), the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (“the Executive”) has on 23rd January 2007, approved the under-mentioned Codes of Practice approved by the Health and Safety Commission on 25th July 2006.

The management of asbestos in non-domestic premises (L127 ISBN 0-7176-6209-8);

Work with materials containing asbestos (L143 ISBN 0-7176-6206-3;

These Codes of Practice give practical guidance on The Control of Asbestos Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 (S.R. 2007 No. 31). They come into operation on 1st March 2007.

Withdrawal of Approval

On 1st March 2007 the Executive, with the consent of the Department, withdraws its approval of the Codes of Practice entitled:

The Management of Asbestos in non-domestic premise, Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002 (L127 ISBN 0-7176-2382-3);

Work with asbestos which does not normally require a licence (fourth edition) (L27 ISBN 0-7176-2562-1);

Work with asbestos insulation, asbestos coating and asbestos insulating board (fourth edition) (L28 ISBN 0-7176-2563-X).
