THE DANGEROUS WILD ANIMALS (2004 ORDER) (COMMENCEMENT No. 2) ORDER (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2006 AND

THE DANGEROUS WILD ANIMALS (FEES) (No. 2) ORDER (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2006.

The Department of the Environment has made a statutory rule entitled The Dangerous Wild Animals (2004 Order) (Commencement No.2) Order (S.R.2006 No. 496 (C.31) and The Dangerous Wild Animals (Fees) (No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006 (S.R.2006 No. 497 ) These rules are made under the powers conferred by The Dangerous Wild Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 2004. The purpose of both orders is to regulate the keeping of dangerous wild animals by private individuals in Northern Ireland to safeguard the public and ensure such animals are properly cared for by their owners. They establish a system for licensing, fees and inspection. The orders will now come into operation on 28th December 2006.
