NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL OF APPROVAL OF CODE OF PRACTICE BY THE HEALTH AND SAFETY EXECUTIVE FOR NORTHERN IRELAND

By virtue of Article 18(5) of the Health and Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order 1978, the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland, with the consent, given on 26th October 2006, of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, being the Department concerned, hereby withdraws approval of the Code of Practice entitled Control of Substances Hazardous to Health in operations using fumigant gases (87 HSA 96, ISBN 0-337-11238-X), with effect from 27th October 2006.

The Code of Practice will be replaced by guidance entitled Fumigation: Health and safety guidance for employers and technicians carrying out fumigation operations (HSG251, ISBN 0-7176-2999-6). The guidance may be used with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 (S.R. 2003 No. 34), as amended.
