WEIGHTS AND MEASURES (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 1981

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment has made a Statutory Rule entitled the Weighing Equipment (Automatic Catchweighing Instruments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 (S.R. 2006 No.154.).

These Regulations, which come into operation on 8th May 2006, are made under Article 13(1) of the Weights and Measures (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 (“the 1981 Order”). They implement, in Northern Ireland, International Recommendation OIML R 51 of the Organisation Internationale de Metrologie Legale relating to automatic catchweighing instruments (Edition 1996 (E)), to the extent that the Recommendation applies to such instruments following the grant or renewal of a certificate of approval of a pattern by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment under Article l0 of the 1981 Order.
