The Local Government (2005 Order) (Commencement No. 2 and Savings) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006 (S.R. 2006 No. 151(C. 10))

Notice is hereby given that the Department of the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 1(2) and (3) of the Local Government (Northern Ireland) Order 2005 has made the above statutory rule.

The following provisions of the Local Government (Northern Ireland) Order 2005 shall come into operation on 1 April 2006-

Articles 3, 4(1), 4(2), 4(4), 4(5) and 6 to 28 (P art II – Local Government Audit); and Article 29 (powers of district councils in relation to emergencies).

The Order also makes savings for the accounts of local government bodies for financial years beginning before the 1 April 2006.
