Removal of Loading Bay & Change of Operational Times of Bus Lanes in Belfast

Notice is given that the Department for Regional Development made on 12th September 2005 an Order entitled The Control of Traffic (Belfast) Order (Northern Ireland) 2005 (S.R. 2005 No. 422), which will come into operation on 31st October 2005.

The effect of the Order is to—

• remove the loading bay in front of Nos. 93 and 95 Great Victoria Street, Belfast; and

• alter the operational times of the bus lanes in Belfast in Castlereagh Road, Great Victoria Street (northbound), Ormeau Road, Shaftesbury Square, Stranmillis Road and the more southerly bus lane in Saintfield Road. These bus lanes, which only buses, cycles and permitted taxis (and motorcycles during the current Experimental Traffic Control Scheme) may enter, proceed along or wait in, will henceforth be operational only during the following times on Monday to Friday —

Castlereagh Road, Ormeau Road, Saintfield Road (more southerly lane) and Stranmillis Road 7.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. Shaftesbury Square and Great Victoria Street (northbound) 7.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. & 3.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
