PLANNING (GENERAL DEVELOPMENT) (AMENDMENT) ORDER (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2005 NO. 427

Notice is hereby given that the Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 13 of the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1991 and of every other power enabling it in that behalf made, on19th September 2005, a Statutory Rule entitled the Planning (General Development) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2005 No. 427 (the 2005 Order) which will come into operation on 24th October 2005.

This Order amends the Planning (General Development) Order (Northern Ireland) 1993 (the GDO). This Amendment substitutes a new Part 6 Class A of Schedule 1 to the GDO which will apply in the period to 31 December 2007 and a new Part 6 Class A2 which will apply from 1 January 2008 onwards. The new Class A increases the permitted ground area of a building or excavation used or to be used for the storage of slurry or manure or, a building used or to be used for both the accommodation of livestock and storage of slurry and manure, to 600 m­ for a limited period until 31 December 2007. The new Class A2 reverts to the previous size limit of 300 m­ for all agricultural buildings from 1 January 2008 onwards.
