ROAD SAFETY AND VEHICLES STANDARDS DIVISION

The Department of the Environment on the 10th March 2005 approved under Article 13(2) and (5) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1995 the preliminary breath test Measuring Device mentioned below for the detection of offences specified in Article 13(2) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1995. The approval has effect from and including the 1st April 2005.

The device known as the Lion Alcolmeter 500, manufactured by Lion Laboratories Limited is a preliminary breath test device, designed to indicate whether the proportion of alcohol in a person’s breath or blood is likely to exceed the prescribed limit.
