The Secretary of State hereby gives notice of the proposal to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping up of an irregular shaped western and eastern part width of Penzance Road and an irregular shaped western and eastern part width of Perivale Road comprising its highway verge at their junctions with Presthope Road at Pennywell, in the City of Sunderland.

If the order is made, the stopping up will be authorised only in order to enable development as permitted by Sunderland Council under reference 25/00057/FUL.

Copies of the draft order and relevant plan will be available for inspection during normal opening hours at Sunderland City Council, City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland, SR1 3AA in the 28 days commencing on 16 April 2026, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State (quoting SUO8361609) at the address stated below.

Any person may object to the making of the proposed order by stating their reasons in writing to the Secretary of State at nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk or National Transport Casework Team, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ, quoting the above reference.
