PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF PARKLETS IN CARNAC STREET, EFFRA PARADE, GLENELDON ROAD AND PYRMONT GROVE

[NOTE: This Notice is about the proposed removal of certain parking places to accommodate the introduction of Parklets and new “At Any Time” waiting restrictions in Carnac Street, Effra Parade, Gleneldon Road and Pyrmont Grove in the London Borough of Lambeth. Objections or other comments may be made – see paragraph 7.]

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth proposes to make The Lambeth (Free Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. *) Order 202* and The Lambeth (Charged-For Parking Places) (Amendment No. *) Order 202* under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Free Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions Order would be:-

(a) in Carnac Street, on the north side, to install 6.00 metres of “At Any Time” Waiting Restrictions outside Elmwood Primary School and install a parklet overlaying 5.00 metres of that Waiting Restriction;

(b) in Effra Parade, on the south-east side, to install 8.00 metres of “At Any Time” Waiting Restrictions outside No. 82a Railton Road and install a parklet overlaying 5.00 metres of that Waiting Restriction;

(c) in Gleneldon Road, on the south-west side, to install 7.00 metres of “At Any Time” Waiting Restrictions outside No. 108 and install a parklet overlaying 5.00 metres of that Waiting Restriction; and

(d) in Pyrmont Grove, on the east side, to install 7.00 metres of “At Any Time” Waiting Restrictions outside No. 46 Canterbury Grove and install a parklet overlaying 5.00 metres of that Waiting Restriction.

3. The general effect of the Charged-For Parking Places Order would be, to make provision for the waiting restrictions specified in Article 2 to this notice, to revoke: (a) in Effra Parade, 8.00 metres of shared-use permit holders and pay parking places; and (b) in Gleneldon Road, 7.00 metres of shared-use Resident permit holders and pay parking places.

4. The Orders are necessary to accommodate the introduction of parklets in the borough as part of the Council’s “Big Shift” programme, which aims to support more residents and businesses to travel sustainably and will reallocate 25% of Lambeth’s kerbside towards sustainable uses.

A copy of each of the proposed Orders and other documents giving detailed particulars about them are available for inspection online at: https://streets.appyway.com/lambeth or www.lambeth.gov.uk/traffic-management-orders and at the offices of Lambeth Council’s Parking and Enforcement Group (Parking, Network Management & Fleet), 3rd Floor, Civic Centre, 6 Brixton Hill, London SW2 1EG, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays), until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders. 7. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made (quoting reference 180 – Parklets Phase 4), and can be made using our consultation portal at https://streets.appyway.com/lambeth or sent by post to Parking and Enforcement Group (Parking, Network Management & Fleet), London Borough of Lambeth, PO Box 80771, London, SW2 9QQ or by email TMOReps@lambeth.gov.uk by 1 April 20206. Any objection may be communicated to, or be seen by, other persons who may have an interest in this matter.
