THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council, with the consent of the London Borough of Brent in respect of the measures described in paragraph 2(a) below, proposes to make the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 63 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be to:

(a) introduce one-way working northbound, with advisory contra-flow cycling in the north to west arm of Kilburn Lane, between Chamberlayne Road and Banister Road;

(b) on the north to west arm of Kilburn Lane (within the City of Westminster) to

: (i) extend the residents’ parking place outside Nos. 28 to 48 northward by 19.1 metres (3 spaces), replacing double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions

; (ii) introduce 7.8 metres of double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions outside Nos. 58 and 60;

(iii) shorten the residents’ parking place outside Nos. 52 to 72 by 17.1 metres (3 spaces) at its southern end;

(iv) extend the residents’ parking place outside Nos. 74 to 102 northward by 4.5 metres, replacing double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions; and

(v) introduce “at any time” loading restrictions on the north-east side, at its junction with the east to west arm of Kilburn Lane; and

(c) on Ilbert Street to:

(i) introduce 6.4 metres of double yellow line “at any time” waiting and loading restrictions alongside a new off-carriageway cycle track adjacent to No. 28 Kilburn Lane;

(ii) extend the dockless e-scooter and cycle hire parking at the north-western extremity of Ilbert Street north-eastward, replacing two residents’ parking bays; and

(iii) extend the double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions on the south-west side, adjacent to No. 26 Kilburn Lane north-westward by 2.5 metres.

3. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council, in accordance with the provisions of section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to amend the width of the pedestrian crossing outside No. 28 Kilburn Lane and introduce additional zig-zag markings within the extents of the pedestrian crossing to delineate the contra-flow route for pedal cycles. In addition, the zig-zag markings on the north side of the crossing would be shortened by 2.8 metres on the western approach and by 3.6 metres on the eastern approach.

4. Please note that the above measures form part of a wider scheme which also affects the lengths of Kilburn Lane, between Chamberlayne Road and Banister Road, that lie within the London Borough of Brent. Details of the proposals that affect those lengths of Kilburn Lane will be published separately by the Council of the London Borough of Brent.

5. The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders at https://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays). All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. Please note that objections and other representations about the proposals will be shared with the Council of the London Borough of Brent as part of the consultation review process.
