PROPOSED PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE IMPROVEMENTS – TYNEMOUTH ROAD N15

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Haringey proposes to make the above mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and under section 90a and 90c of the Highways Act 1980 and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 to introduce flat top road humps/continuous footway crossings at the locations detailed below.
The general effect of the orders will be:
1. On Tynemouth Road N15:
(i) (Both Sides): Revoke approximately 2.7 metres of no waiting at any time restrictions from both junctions with Antill Road N15
2. On Cunningham Road N15:
(i) (Both Sides): Revoke approximately 3.05 metres of no waiting at any time restrictions from the junction with Tynemouth Road N15.
(ii) (West Side): Extend the southern end of the no waiting at any time restrictions at the junction with Tynemouth Road by 1.65 metres. Adjacent cycle storage hangar to be relocated and resident permit holders only bay to be shortened southwards each by the same length.
3. On Spondon Road N15:
(i) (Both sides): Revoke approximately 3.05 metres of no waiting at any time restrictions from the junction with Tynemouth Road N15.
(ii) (West Side): Replace approximately 3.7 metres of resident permit holders only parking restrictions closest to the junction with Tynemouth Road N15 with no waiting at any time.
4. To make the following map-based changes to ensure accuracy of our records which will result in no physical changes on site:
(i) To shorten the permit holders only bay on the east side of Cunningham Road N15 at the junction with Tynemouth Road by approximately 1 metre by extending the adjacent double yellow lines.
(ii) To shorten the permit holders only bay on the east side of Spondon Road N15 at junction with Tynemouth Road by approximately 1 metre by extending the adjacent double yellow lines.
The above parking changes are required to facilitate the installation of flat top road humps (including 4x continuous footway crossings) to facilitate improved pedestrian travel along Tynemouth Road N15 as detailed below. These will be full width of the carriageway with a maximum height of 100mm, with the lengths specified below inclusive of ramps:
a) Tynemouth Road at its western junction with Antill Road (continuous footway crossing) - length of approximately 10 metres.
b) Tynemouth Road at its eastern junction with Antill Road (continuous footway crossing) – length of approximately 8.25 metres.
c) Antill Road at the junction with Tynemouth Road – (flat top road hump) – length of approximately 18 metres (existing speed hump adjacent to No.9 Tynemouth Road to be removed)
d) Cunningham Road at its junction with Tynemouth Road (continuous footway crossing) – length of approximately 4.05 metres.
e) Spondon Road at its junction with Tynemouth Road (continuous footway crossing) – length of approximately 4.35 metres.
A copy of the proposed Orders, a copy of this notice, a copy of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the proposed Orders and plan(s) showing the locations and effects of the Orders can be viewed via the online consultation portal https://consultation.appyway.com/haringey or inspected during normal office hours at the reception desk of Alexendra House, 10 Station Road, Wood Green, N22 7TR until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders.
