THE ENFIELD (FREE PARKING PLACES) (DISABLED PERSONS) (AMENDMENT NO. 6) ORDER 2025

(NOTE: This notice is about continuing indefinitely the A1110 south-eastbound bus lane provision and amendments to waiting, loading and parking place restrictions on Bowes Road).

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield (‘the Council’), made on 10 December 2025 the above named Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Orders will come into force on 10 December 2025.

2. The general effect of the Orders will be to continue permanently on Bowes Road:

(1) the north side,

(a) the southeast bound bus lane between a point 34.3 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Arnos Road and the common boundary of Nos. 282 and 284 Bowes Road operating Monday to Friday between 7am10am and 4pm-7pm and on Saturdays between 10am–2pm

. (b) waiting and loading restrictions operating Monday to Friday between 7am-10am and 4pm-7pm and Saturday between 10am-2pm between a point 9.1 metres south-east of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 239 and 241 Bowes Road and a point 6 metres south-east of the north-eastern kerbline of Arnos Road.

(c) waiting restrictions that operate at any time from a point 55 metres west of the common boundary of Nos. 311 and 313 Bowes Road eastward for 50 metres.

(d) remove permit holder parking places:

A. from a point 5 metres west of the common boundary of Nos. 330 and 332 Bowes Road eastward for 10 metres.

B. from a point 10 metres west of the common boundary of Nos. 320 and 322 Bowes Road eastward for 10.5 metres.

C. from a point 1.5 metres west of the common boundary of Nos. 302 and 304 Bowes Road eastward for 6 metres.

D. from a point 3.5 metres west of the common boundary of Nos. 298 and 300 Bowes Road eastward for 10.5 metres.

(2) The south side

(a) waiting restrictions that operate at any time from a point 35.6 metres east of the common boundary of Nos. 301 and 303 Bowes Road eastward for 86 metres.

(b) provide a new disabled parking place on the southern side of Bowes Road from a point 29 metres east of the common boundary of Nos. 301 and 303 Bowes Road eastward for 6.6 metres.

(c) remove the existing free parking bays from a point 46 metres east of the common boundary of Nos. 301 and 303 Bowes Road eastward for 28 metres.

(d) Provide new permit holder parking places to operate Monday – Friday 11am - Noon:

A. from a point 8 metres east of the common boundary of Nos. 301 and 303 Bowes Road eastward for 21 metres.

B. from a point 2.5 metres west of the common boundary of Nos. 251 and 253 Bowes Road eastward for 6 metres.

3. A copy of the Orders and other documents giving detailed particulars about them can be inspected at the Town Library, 66 Church Street, Enfield EN2 6AX, Monday to Fridays 9am – 5pm inclusive (except on Bank Holidays), or online at: https://new.enfield.gov.uk/services/roads-and-transport/traffic-management-orders/ or can also be obtained by emailing journeysandplaces@enfield.gov.uk or by writing to the Journeys and Places Team (quoting reference TG52/1519) Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date the Orders were made.

4. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 or that any part of the relevant requirements thereof or of any regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
