THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (NORTH STREET, LONDON ROAD, WOOD LANE, CAMBRIDGE ROAD, LINTON ROAD, RIPPLE ROAD, NEW ROAD AND LONGBRIDGE ROAD) (BUS LANE) ORDER 2002 (AMENDMENT NO.1) ORDER 2025

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (CYCLE TRACK) (LONGBRIDGE ROAD, DAGENHAM) ORDER 2024 (AMENDMENT NO.1) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in exercise of its powers under sections 6 and 124 and Parts I to IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (hereinafter called “the Act”), Sections 65(1) and 66(4) of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling legislation and powers and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act made the above Orders, the effect of which will be to:

1. Amend the existing ‘buses, cycles and taxis only Mon-Sat 7am-10am Lane’ to ‘local buses, cycles and taxis only Mon-Sat 7am-7pm Lane’ and extend the length at the follow locations:

a. Longbridge Road, south-east side, from a point 29 metres south-west of a point opposite the western kerbline of Broadhurst Avenue to a point 8 metres north-east of Faircross Parade.

2. Introduce a ‘local buses, cycles and taxis only Mon-Sat 7am-7pm Lane’ on Longbridge Road at the following locations:

a. North side, from a point 1.16 metres west of the western boundary of No. 641 Longbridge Road to a point 1.47 metres east of the common boundary of Nos. 713 and 715 Longbridge Road.

b. South side, from a point 7.42 metres east of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 713 and 715 Longbridge Road to a point 5.18 metres east of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 653 and 655.

c. North-west side, from a point in-line with the common boundary of Nos. 497 and 499 Longbridge Road to a point 5.63 metres north-east of the common boundary of Nos. 557 and 559 Longbridge Road.

3. Introduce a new cycle track on the grass verge adjacent to the carriageway at the following locations:

a. Longbridge Road, north-west side, from a point 37.44 metres south-west of its junction with Meadway for a distance of 282 metres in a north-easterly direction.

4. Amend the existing cycle track on Longbridge Road, south-east side, from a point 12.2 metres north-east of its junction with Waterside Close to a point 113.2 metres south-west of its junction with Waterside Close to the following:

a. Longbridge Road, south-east side, from a point 15.74 metres north-east of its junction with Waterside Close for a distance of 139 metres in a south-westerly direction.

A copy of the Orders, which will come into force on 11 December 2025 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders are available to view for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made on the Councils website by visiting the following webpage https://www.lbbd.gov.uk/parking/parking-area and selecting ‘New and proposed traffic and parking schemes’ or available for inspection at the Adult Library, First Floor, Barking Learning Centre, Barking between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers of the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or any Regulations under it have not been complied with may do so within six weeks of the made date of the Order by applying to the High Court
