THE SECRETARY OF STATE hereby gives notice of the proposal to make an Order made under section 249 of the above Act to authorise the extinguishment of vehicular rights at an irregular shaped area of Court Square at Carlisle in Cumberland.

COPIES OF THE DRAFT ORDER AND RELEVANT PLAN may be inspected during normal opening hours at Cumberland Council, Parkhouse Building, Baron Way, Carlisle, CA6 4SJ in the 28 days commencing on 05 December 2025 and may be obtained free of charge, from the Secretary of State (quoting reference NATTRAN/NW/S249/6155) at the address stated below.

ANY PERSON MAY OBJECT to the making of the proposed order by stating their reasons in writing to the Secretary of State at nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk or National Transport Casework Team, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ, quoting the above reference. Objections should be received by midnight on 02 January 2026.
