Natural Resources Wales will publish its Challenges and Choices consultation on 21 October 2025. This is the second in a series of three statutory public consultations that will inform the updated River Basin Management Plans due in 2027. This Wales-wide consultation covers the Dee River Basin District and the Western Wales River Basin District, and provides an opportunity for anyone with an interest in the water environment or river basin planning to comment on the significant water management issues and proposed steps.

The consultation will run from 21 October 2025 to 21 April 2026.

Any person may make representations to Natural Resources Wales regarding the Statement of Steps and Consultation Measures for the Dee and Western Wales River Basin Districts by completing the online consultation via the Citizen Space consultation hub.
