PROPOSED PARKING CHANGES, PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONE AND RESTRICTED ZONE

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make the following Orders under sections 6, 32, 33, 35, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Traffic Management Act 2004:–

• The Wandsworth (Prescribed Routes) (No. *) Traffic Order 20**;

• The Wandsworth (Housing Estate Roads and Car Parks) (Amendment No.*) Order 20**

• The Wandsworth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Areas) (Amendment No .*) Order 20**

• The Wandsworth (Battersea) (Parking Places) (No. *) Order 20**

2. The general effect of the Orders is detailed in the Schedule to this Notice.

3. Copies of documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Order are available for inspection during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at The Customer Centre, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London, SW18 2PU. The documents will remain available until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order.

4. Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds on which it is made to the Director of Environment and Community Services at the address below within 21 days of the date of this Notice.

SCHEDULE

Private Access Road South of Broad Mansions

Implementation of a “Pedestrians and Cyclists Only” Zone on the access road from the point at which it meets the A3205 York Road for approximately 60m in a south-easterly direction until the point at which it meets the Necklace Road. The exceptions to this regulation will be: all emergency service vehicles, vehicles that need to enter the area to service the convenience store on the ground floor of Broad Mansions, council-contracted and commercial refuse collection vehicles that need to service Broad Mansions, and Pantechnicon that need to service Broad Mansions.

One-way for all vehicular traffic, including pedal cyclists, in a north-westerly direction.

Installation of “Left Turn Only” signs at the north-western end of the private access road immediately south-east of where it meets the A3205 York Road.

Private Car Park North of the private Access Road Serving Broad Mansions

Implementation of a new Residents Parking Zone (PRS), plus one perpendicular bay for private service vehicles and 6 bays for blue badge holders

Necklace Road

Implementation of a Restricted Zone (No Waiting or Loading at Any Time) along this road from the point at which it meets the private access road to Broad Mansions for 100m in an easterly direction until the point at which it meets

Wye Street.

Wye Street The deletion of approximately 20m x 2m of inset on-street CPZ vehicular parking space on the western side of Wye Street from the point immediately north of the access road to Pennethorne House approximately 20m in a northerly direction to accommodate a new simple priority bell-mouth access junction to the Necklace Road.

Insertion of new CPZ signs south of the new southern-most point of the inset parking bay on the western side of Wye Street.

The deletion of approximately 28m x 2m of existing CPZ bay space on the eastern side of the carriageway on Wye Street and its replacement with double yellow lines from a point immediately north of the existing “Keep Clear” road markings for a distance of 28m in a northerly direction.

The installation of double yellow lines on the eastern side of the carriageway on Wye Street opposite the access to the Necklace Road immediately east of the existing “Keep Clear” road markings for a distance of 28m.
