THE A503 GLA ROAD AND SIDE ROAD (TOLLINGTON ROAD, PARKHURST ROAD AND WHADCOAT STREET LONDON BOROUGH OF ISLINGTON) BANNED TURNS AND PRESCRIBED ROUTES TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

- THE GLA ROADS (LONDON BOROUGH OF ISLINGTON) (BUS PRIORITY) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2009 (THE A503 CAMDEN ROAD, ISLEDON ROAD AND TOLLINGDON ROAD) VARIATION ORDER 2025

1. Transport for London, hereby gives notice that on 9th July 2025 it made the above named Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The GLA Roads and GLA Side Roads (Islington) Red Route Consolidation Traffic Order 2008 The A503 (Parkhurst Road, Seven Sisters Road, Tollington Road, Isledon Road and Camden Road) Experimental Variation Order 2024, The A503 GLA Road and Side Road (Tollington Road, Parkhurst Road and Whadcoat Street London Borough of Islington) Banned Turns and Prescribed Routes Experimental Traffic Order 2024 and The GLA Roads (London Borough of Islington) (Bus Priority) Consolidation Order 2009 (The A503 Camden Road, Isledon Road and Tollingdon Road) Experimental Variation Order 2024 (“the experimental Orders”) were made under section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and came into force on 12th February 2024.

3. The general nature and effect of the experimental Orders were to:

(1) remove the Monday to Saturday the 7am to 1 pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles 3 hours bay outside Nos. 39 to 45 Seven Sisters Road, replacing it with a double red line restriction (no stopping at any time);

(2) relocate the Mon to Sat 7 am to 4 pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles 3 hours bay opposite Nos. 85 to 91 to 93 Parkhurst Road 33 metres north-eastwards and reduce its length from 29 metres to 20 metres, the adjacent double red line restrictions (no stopping at any time) will be adjusted to accommodate the change;

(3) reduce the length of the Mon to Sat 8 am to 4 pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 44 to 58 Seven Sisters Road by 20 metres (8 metres at its western end and 12 metres at its eastern end), the adjacent double red line restrictions (no stopping at any time) will be adjusted to accommodate the change;

(4) remove the Mon to Sat 8 am to 4 pm 1 hour parking and disabled persons vehicles’ 3 hours bay outside Nos. 58 to 70 Seven Sisters Road, replacing it with a double red line restriction (no stopping at any time);

(5) relocate the Mon to Sat 7 am to 4 pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles 3 hours bay outside Nos. 80 to 86 Seven Sisters Road 8 metres north-eastwards and increase its length to 39 metres. the adjacent double red line restrictions (no stopping at any time) will be adjusted to accommodate the change;

(6) remove the Mon to Sat 7 am to 4 pm 30 min parking and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 88 to 102 Seven Sisters Road, replacing it with a Mon to Sat 7 am to 4 pm loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay and a double red line restriction (no stopping at any time);

(7) remove the Mon to Sat 7 am to 4 pm 30 min parking and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 102 to 120 Seven Sisters Road, replacing it with a double red line restriction (no stopping at any time);

(8) reduce the length of the Mon to Sat 10 am to 4 pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 128 to 134 Seven Sisters Road from 42 metres to 21 metres, its start will be moved 7 metres south-westwards. The adjacent double red line restrictions (no stopping at any time) will be adjusted to accommodate the change;

(9) remove the Mon to Sat 10 am to 4 pm 1 hour parking and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 138 to 144a Seven Sisters Road, replacing it with a double red line restriction (no stopping at any time);

(10) replace the single red line (no stopping Mon to Sat 7 am to 7pm) restriction outside Nos. 142 to 146 Seven Sisters Road with a double red line restriction (no stopping at any time);

(11) remove the 7am to 7pm 1 hour parking and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 146a to 150 Seven Sisters Road replacing it with a double red line restriction (no stopping at any time) and the extended loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay below;

(12) extend the Mon to Sat 7am to 7pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 150 to 152 Seven Sisters Road by 14 metres at its south-western end and by 4.5 metres at its north-eastern end;

(13) remove the 7am to 7pm 1 hour parking and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 152a to 154a Seven Sisters Road replacing it with a double red line restriction (no stopping at any time) and the extended loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay above;

(14) remove the 7 am to 7 pm 1 hour parking and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Medina Court Seven Sisters Road replacing it with the loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay below;

(15) combine the 8.5 metre long Mon to Sat 7am to 7 pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside No. 162 Seven Sisters Road with the 14.5 metre long Mon to Sat 7am to 7 pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Medina Court, Seven Sisters Road into a 30 metre long bay outside Medina Court, Seven Sisters Road. The adjacent double red line restriction (no stopping at any time) at its south-western end will be adjusted to reflect the change;

(16) move the electric vehicle charging bay outside Medina Court, Seven Sisters Road 6 metres south-westwards, the adjacent double red line restriction (no stopping at any time) at its north-eastern end will be adjusted to reflect the change;

(17) move the Mon to Sat 7 am to 7 pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 174 to 180 Seven Sisters Road 8 metres north-east, the adjacent double red line restriction (no stopping at any time) at its south-western end will be adjusted to reflect the change;

(18) move the electric taxi charging bay outside No. 184 Seven Sisters Road 1 metre north-eastwards, the adjacent double red line restriction (no stopping at any time) at its north-eastern end will be adjusted to reflect the change;

(19) remove the Mon to Sat 7am to 7 pm 1 hour parking and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 182 to 186 Seven Sisters Road, replacing it with the electric taxi charging point above and a double red line restriction (no stopping at any time);

(20) move the Mon to Sat 7 am to 7 pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 194 to 198 Seven Sisters Road 9 metres south-west, the adjacent double red line restriction (no stopping at any time) at its south-western end will be adjusted to reflect the change;

(21) shorten the 21 metre long Mon to Sat 7am to 7 pm 1 hour parking and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 200 to 206 Seven Sisters Road to 7 metres, relocating it to outside Nos. 196 to 200 Seven Sisters Road. The adjacent double red line restriction (no stopping at any time) at its north-eastern end will be adjusted to reflect the change;

(22) shorten the 25 metre long Mon to Sat 10am to 4 pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos. 216 to 224 Seven Sisters Road by 5.5 metres, the adjacent double red line restrictions (no stopping at any time) will be adjusted to accommodate the change;

(23) move the Mon to Sat 10am to 4 pm 20 min loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bay outside Nos.240c and 240d and opposite No. 233 Seven Sisters Road 1 metre south-westwards;

(24) extend the double red line restriction (no stopping at any time) at the south-eastern kerb-line of Seven Sisters Road between its junction with Isledon Road and the common boundary of Nos. 240b and 240c Seven Sisters Road 45 metres north-eastwards.

(25) reduce the length of the any day 7am to 7pm 1 hour no return 2 hours parking and disabled persons’ vehicles bay opposite No. 195 Isledon Road by 9 metres, the adjacent double red restrictions (no stopping at any time) will be extended to accommodate the change;

(26) change the at any time parking and disabled persons vehicles’ bay on Isledon Road, outside No. 40 Yonge Park to a Monday to Saturday 7am to 7pm loading 20 min and disabled persons’ vehicles 3 hours bay;

(27) introduce a 15 metre Monday to Saturday 7am to 7pm loading 20 min and disabled persons’ vehicles 3 hours bay outside No. 107 Tollington Road;

(28) replace the single red line restrictions (no stopping Monday to Saturday 7am to 7pm) with a double red line restriction (no stopping at any time) at the south-eastern side of Tollington Road between its junctions with Stacey Street and Holloway Road;

(29) move the existing Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm Loading 20 mins and disabled persons vehicles’ 3 hours bay at the north-western kerb-line of the A503 Seven Sisters Road under the Finsbury Park Station railway bridge 6.5 metres north-eastwards, the adjacent double red restrictions (no stopping at any time) will be extended to accommodate the change;

(30) prohibit all vehicles except cycles from turning left from the A503 Tollington Road into Hornsey Road;

(31) prescribe that all vehicles except buses turn left from traffic lane 1 of the A503 Parkhurst Road into Holloway Road;

(32) prescribe that all vehicles proceed straight ahead from traffic lane 2 of the A503 Parkhurst Road into Seven Sisters Road;

(33) prescribe that all vehicles turn right from traffic lane 3 of the A503 Parkhurst Road into Holloway Road;

(34) prohibit pedal cycles in the off-side cycle lane on the A503 Parkhurst Road from turning left into Holloway Road;

(35) prescribe that all vehicles turn left from Whadcoat Street into Seven Sisters Road;

(36) extend the westbound bus lane on Camden Road between its junctions with Caledonian Road and Middleton Grove by 50 metres at its eastern end;

(37) combine the southbound bus lanes on Isledon Road between its junctions with Seven Sisters Road and Coleridge Road and between its junctions with Yonge Park and Hornsey Road, the combined bus lane will end outside Nos. 113 to 117 Isledon Road;

(38) introduce a 83 meter long 24/7 southbound bus lane restricted to buses, dial-a-ride buses, taxis, cycles and solo motor cycles at the south-eastern side of Tollington Road between a point 43 metres south-west of its junction with Stacey Street and a point 3 metres north-east of its junction with Hornsey Road;

(39) shorten the south-westbound bus lane on Tollington Road between its junctions with Hornsey Road and Hertslet Road by 13 metres at its eastern end.

4. Transport for London has carefully considered whether or not the provisions of the experimental Order should be continued indefinitely and has decided that they should be so continued.

5. Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on Local Authorities’ by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and in accordance with regulation 23 of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, Transport for London has made The GLA Roads and GLA Side Roads (Islington) Red Route Consolidation Traffic Order 2008 The A503 (Parkhurst Road, Seven Sisters Road, Tollington Road, Isledon Road and Camden Road) Variation Order 2025, The A503 GLA Road and Side Road (Tollington Road, Parkhurst Road and Whadcoat Street London Borough of Islington) Banned Turns and Prescribed Routes Traffic Order 2025, The GLA Roads (London Borough of Islington) (Bus Priority) Consolidation Order 2009 (The A503 Camden Road, Isledon Road and Tollingdon Road) Variation Order 2025 (“the permanent Orders”). That Orders will come into force on 19th July 2025, and the effect of that Orders will be to continue in force indefinitely the provisions of the experimental Orders.

6. The road affected by the permanent Orders are the A503 Camden Road, Parkhurst Road, Seven Sisters Road, Tollington Road, Isledon Road and the A503 side road Whadcoat Street.

8. Any person wishing to question the validity of the permanent Orders or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which that Orders are made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
