The Department for Infrastructure has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Planning (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2025” (S.R. 2025 No.128), which comes into operation on 1 August 2025.

The purpose of this Statutory Rule is to revise procedures for pre-application community consultation, remove the mandatory requirements to hold a pre-determination hearing and make technical amendments under the Planning (Development Management) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 (S.R. 2015 No.71). The Statutory Rule also makes technical amendments to the Planning (Local Development Plan) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 (S.R. 2015 No.62).
