1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Camden on 13 June 2025 have made the above Order under sections 6, 35, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general nature and effect of the Order will be:-

(a) to amend the Camden (Waiting and Loading Restrictions) (Civil Enforcement Area) Traffic Order 2012 so as to remove the provision by that Order of free on-street solo motor cycle parking places, said facility to be re-provided by this Order as paid-for parking places reserved for solo motor cycles – see item (b)(i) below;

(b) to further amend the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-B) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-C) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-D) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-E) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-F) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-G) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-H) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-J) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-K) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-L) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-M) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-N) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-P) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-Q) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-R) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-S) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-U) Traffic Order 2012, the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-V) Traffic Order 2012, and the Camden (Parking Places) (CA-X) Traffic Order 2012, as amended by the Camden (Parking Places) (General Amendment) (No. 1, 2024) Order 2024, so as to:-

(i) make provision for the designation of paid-for parking places reserved for solo motor cycles in the streets listed in the Schedule to this Notice and set the parking charge or validity of certain permits for use in those parking places (that is, valid residents, business or visitor permits issued or granted in respect of motorcycles) – these parking places would be for the use of solo motor cycles only at any time with parking charges (banded on whether or not the motorcycle is an electric vehicle) or requirement for permits applying during the same hours of operation as paid-for parking places in the surrounding Controlled Parking Zone (‘CPZ’), and set at £0.66/day for electric vehicles and £1.30/day for non-electric vehicles; (ii) introduce new tariff bandings for motorcycle permits (that is – Residents' permits issued or granted in respect of motorcycle) based on whether a motorcycle is an electric vehicle or not and set the parking charge payable for motorcycle permits as follows: electric vehicles: £74.70 (12 months validity), £37.35 (6 months validity); non-electric: £110.50 (12 months validity), £55.25 (6 months validity); (iii) make provision for the grant or issue of Business permits (Business Scheme ‘B’) in respect of motorcycles, and set the parking charge payable for said permits, banded at two tariffs based on whether or not a motorcycle is an electric vehicle, as follows: electric vehicles - £107.00, non-electric - £209.50 (both 12 months validity); (iv) introduce new tariff bandings for visitors’ permits and business visitors’ permits based on whether a motorcycle is an electric vehicle or not and set the parking charge payable for these permits as follows:- Visitors’ permit – short stay: electric vehicles £0.33/hour, non-electric: £0.74/hour; Visitors’ permit – all day (CPZ controlled hours): electric vehicles £2.36/day, non-electric £5.27/day; Business visitors’ permit – short stay: electric vehicles £0.96/hour, non-electric £2.14/hour; (v) simplify and update reference to permit refunds, where specified in relation to Motorcycle Permits to 'pro rata'; and

(c) to further amend the Camden (Parking Places) (Doctors) Traffic Order 2012, as amended by the Camden (Parking Places) (General Amendment) (No. 1, 2024) Order 2024, so as to make provision for the grant or issue of Doctors permits in respect of motorcycles, and set the parking charge payable for said permits, banded at two tariffs, based on whether a motorcycle is an electric vehicle or not: as follows: electric vehicles: £83.10; non-electric: £162.70 (both 12 months validity).

3. The provisions of the Order shall apply to such provisions derived from the Orders referred to in item 2 above as are consolidated within the Camden (Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) Consolidation Order 2025.

4. Copies of the Order, which came into force on 13 June 2025, and of other documents relating to the Order may be obtained by contacting traffic.orders@camden.gov.uk or may be inspected in person by prior appointment at 5 Pancras Square, London N1C 4AG, during normal office hours.

5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
