(TCPA 1990) S247 TCPA 1990 STOPPING UP ORDER 269 EAST INDIA DOCK ROAD, E14 IN THE LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS

1. THE COUNCIL OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS hereby gives notice that it has made an order under section 247 Town & Country Planning Act 1990 authorising the stopping up of a section of highway at 269 East India Dock Road, E14 in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, described in Schedule 1 within this notice and to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission referred to in schedule 2 [including provisions for improved highways] to enable the development.

2. Copies of the order may be inspected by appointment at the offices of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Town Hall, 160 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1 BJ quoting s247_2025/East India Dock/RR.

3. Copies of the Order may be obtained, at cost, by application to the Highways Records Officer quoting s247_2025/East India Dock Road/RR at highway.search@towerhamlets.gov.uk

4. Any person(s) aggrieved by the order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks from 22nd May 2025, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.

SCHEDULE 1

The proposed stopping up area measures approximately 11.5 metres in width and 11.6 metres in length immediately abutting No 269 and spans the curved boundary of the development site to its junction with Follet Street measuring approximately 28 metres in length.

Planning reference PA/19/01838:

“Internal and external alterations to the existing residential units at no. 267 East India Dock Road and proposed erection of a 163-bedroom hotel (C1 use class) comprising of a part four, and part-eighteen storey building over basement, with associated roof top plant room, ground floor servicing, car and bike parking and landscaping.”
