PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF SHORT-TERM PARKING BAYS & AMENDMENT OF PERMIT/PAYMENT PARKING BAYS – BISHOP’S ROAD, CROYDON

THE CROYDON (ON-STREET CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (NO.7) ORDER 2025
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 17 March 2025 made the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be:
(a) To introduce two new, short-term, two-hour maximum stay, first hour free, pay-by-phone parking places in Bishop’s Road as described in Schedule 1 to this Notice with tariffs as specified in that Schedule. The bays will be in operation Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
(b) To relocate three permit/payment parking places in Bishop’s Road, with a maximum four-hour stay for non-permit holders, as described in Schedule 2 to this Notice. These bays will be in operation Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 24 March 2025, and of all associated Orders, can be inspected between 9am and 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, by appointment with the Parking Design Team, at Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternatively all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk.
4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

| Bishop’s Road | • Two bays on the south (even-numbered) side adjacent to the junction with London Road (replacing three permit/payment bays). |
• Band 1 applies to electric or other vehicles emitting less than 1g/km CO2. The new parking charge equates to 25% discount on the Band 3 charge.
• Band 2 applies to vehicles emitting between 1 and 138g/km CO2. The new parking charge equates to 15% discount on the Band 3 charge.
• Band 3 applies the vehicles emitting more than 138g/km CO2; vehicles registered before March 2001; diesel engine vehicles registered before September 2015; and all payments not made via the pay-by-phone provider.
