THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK (FREE PARKING PLACES AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) (HORSELYDOWN LANE) ORDER 202*

1. Southwark Council hereby GIVES NOTICE that it proposes to make the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The effects of the Orders in HORSELYDOWN LANE (within existing Controlled Parking Zone ‘G’), would be to:

(a) south-east side o/s Nos. 32 and 34 Horselydown Lane relocate an existing CPZ ‘G’ permit holders’ only parking place south-westward by 1.5 metres;

(b) south-east side o/s Nos. 34 and 36 Horselydown Lane remove one existing electric vehicle only recharging bay, and increase the size of another existing electric vehicle only recharging bay to 12.5 metres (note that two existing recharging points would be replaced with a single recharging point serving two vehicles at any one time, and relocated from the footway to a build-out in the carriageway within the electric vehicle only recharging bay; and

(c) amend existing waiting restrictions by (i) replacing 49 metres of timed waiting restrictions (single yellow lines) with ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions (double yellow lines ‘DYLs’) on the north-west side between its junction with Queen Elizabeth Street and its junction with Gainsford Street, and (ii) on the south-east side removing a total of 3 metres of existing ‘DYLs’ o/s Nos. 34 and 36 Horselydown Lane to accommodate the parking changes.

3. Southwark Council hereby GIVES FURTHER NOTICE, under sections 90A to 90I of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with the provisions of the Highways (Traffic calming) Regulations 1999, that it intends to construct a raised speed table of flat-top construction having a maximum height level with the surrounding kerb, and covering the entire width of the carriageway in HORSELYDOWN LANE extending from the north-western kerb-line of Queen Elizabeth Street north-westward for a distance of 7 metres, including ramps.

Notes: (1) ‘at any time’ means at all hours on every day of the week. (2) All measurements are in metres and are approximate.

6.
