LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS
PUBLIC NOTICE FOR PROPOSED PARKING CHANGES
The Council proposes to make changes to the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended): THE TOWER HAMLETS (WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (MAP BASED) ORDER 2019 and THE TOWER HAMLETS (PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED) ORDER 2019.
The general effect of these proposals are as follows:
PTO 2228 – Minor amendments:
(a) Lowell Street (i) extend both ends of resident bay 3m outside No.3 Lowell Street, (ii) extend existing resident bay by 5 m outside No.15 Lowell Street, (iii) Remove resident bay outside No.2a Lowell Street and replace with double yellow line.
(b) Tenter Ground – to replace existing Motorcycle parking bay with Resident permit bay.
(c) Bell Lane – to replace existing Pay by Phone bay outside No.31 Bell Lane with a Motorcycle parking bay.
(d) to replace Personalised Disable with a Resident permit bay on: (i) Bay no.552, outside No.196 East Ferry Road, and (ii) Bay no.602, outside no.18 Florida Street.
(e) Wyke Road – to convert the existing dual use parking bays outside and opposite Nos.27-33 Wyke Road to Permit parking bays.
(f) Thomas More Street (outside Nightingale House) – replace double yellow line and No Loading At Any Time with Single yellow line, Mon-Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm, from Resident bay to 10m northwest of the junction with the Northeast to Southwest arm of Thomas More Street.
(g) Bullivant Street – change 5m of double yellow line, opposite Nos.19-20 Bullivant Street, to permit holder bay Mon-Thur 8.30am to 5.30pm and Friday - No Waiting 8.30am to 12.30pm and 2.30pm to 5.30pm with Limited Waiting 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
(h) Ravenscroft Street, Quilter Street & Durant Street – change existing Market Trader parking bays operating times from 6am to 3pm to 5am to 3pm on Sundays
(i) Birchfield Street – (i) west side, outside no.3 – by removing 23m of double yellow line and no loading, introduce a permit holder parking bay; ii) Between Pinefield Close and East India Dock Road: to revoke the No loading Mon- Sat 7am – 1pm; and (iii) between the boundary wall of no.4 and 6 to East India Dock Road on both sides, introduce No loading ‘at any time’ restrictions.
(j) Pinefield Close – convert existing single yellow lines into double yellow lines.
(k) Devons Road – (i) to convert the existing single yellow lines into double yellow lines (a) between the west side of Violet Road and east of Campbell Road and (b) on Campbell Road, junction; and (ii) outside Corsican Square by removing 10m of double yellow line, introduce a loading bay to operate ‘at all times’ with 20 minutes max stay and no return within 2 hours.
(l) Old Ford Road – (i) northside only, outside no.251 Connaught Works to convert the existing single yellow lines into double yellow lines; and (ii) opposite no.364 on the northside, to introduce 56m of No loading ‘at any time’ restrictions to accompany the double yellow lines.
(m) Otis Street and Three Mill Lane - to convert all existing single yellow lines into double yellow lines.
(n) Sidney Street – east side, outside the flank wall of no.1 Callahan Cottages, to introduce approx.14.5m of No loading ‘at any time’ restrictions to accompany the double yellow line.
(o) Violet Road – west side, between Yeo Street and north wall of no.64-68 to introduce approx. 94m of No Loading ‘at any time’ restrictions.
(p) Rifle Street – (i) to introduce a permit holder parking bay on: (a) northside no.3-5 of 2 spaces; (b) southside, outside no.12-16 of 3 spaces; and (c) southside, outside Colston House of 2 spaces; and (ii) convert all existing single yellow lines into double yellow lines.
(q) Bowen Street – (i) southside, by removing approx. 16.5m of double yellow line, introduce a permit holder parking bay, and (ii) northside, to introduce No loading ‘at any time’ to accompany the double yellow lines.
(r) Chrisp Street – (i) west side, outside Ascot House: to reposition and extend the existing shared use parking bay from 4.5m to 9.1m; and (ii) outside the flank wall of no.74 Carmen Street, extend the existing resident parking ay northwards by approx. 7m.
(s) Fordham Street – southside, between no.8 and 14 to convert the single yellow line into double yellow line.
(t) Cuba Street (west side) – to introduce No loading ‘at any time’ for approx. 5m north of the corner with Manilla Street.
(u) West India Dock road – outside no.14-16 to convert the existing single yellow line into double yellow lines and introduce No loading ‘at any time’; and (ii) southeast side between no 3-9, to change the No Waiting from Mon- Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm to Mon- Fri 7am to 7pm.
1. The Regulations, fees and usual exemptions imposed by the governing Traffic Management Orders would apply to the proposals referred to in paragraph 1 above.
2. A copy of each of the proposed Orders and all relevant documents can be obtained by emailing Parking.TMO@towerhamlets.gov.uk until the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published.
3. Any objections or other representations about the proposed Orders should be sent by email to the above email address in paragraph 3 or in writing to Parking & Mobility Services, 585-593 Commercial Road, London E1 0HJ within 21 days from the date on which this Notice is published. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
