THE CROYDON (ON-STREET CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (NO. 32) ORDER 2024

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 16 December 2024 made the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the Orders will be:

a) To introduce “at any time” double yellow line waiting restrictions in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.

b) To extend existing single yellow line waiting restrictions in the lengths of street specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.

c) To introduce an additional permit/payment bay as specified in schedule 3 to this Notice.

d) To update the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new arrangements as they exist on site.

3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 23 December 2024, and of all associated Orders can be inspected from 9am to 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, at the “Access Croydon” Facility, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA.

5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

(Introducing double yellow line waiting restrictions “at any time”)

Arnhem Drive, New Addington

The south-west side, either side of its junction with Milne Park East for 10 metres.

Ashen Vale, South Croydon

The north-east side, extending the existing double yellow lines at the junction with Selsdon Park Road south-eastwards by 10 metres.

Ballards Way, South Croydon

The south-east side, from a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 73 and 75 Ballards Way to a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 67 and 69 Ballards Way, including the carriageway surrounding the island site at its junction with Crest Road.

Buller Road, Thornton Heath

• The south-west side, either side of its junction with Hunter Road for 7 metres.

• The south-west side, either side of its junction with Kitchener Road for 7 metres.

• The south-west side, between the existing electric vehicle charging bay and a point 7 metres south-east of the junction with Hamilton Road.

• Both sides, from its junction with Mersham Road south-eastwards for 7 metres.

Chertsey Crescent, New Addington

The south-west side, from a point 5 metres south-east of the disabled bay outside No. 52 Chertsey Crescent to the inset parking bays outside Nos. 56 to 76 Chertsey Crescent.

Chipstead Valley Road, Coulsdon

The north-west side, from the common boundary of Nos. 334 and 336 Chipstead Valley Road to a point 9.5 metres south-west of its junction with Linden Avenue.

Crest Road, South Croydon

• The south-east side, from its junction with Ballards Way to a point 4 metres north-east of the common boundary of Nos. 3 and 5 Crest Road.

• The north-west side, from its junction with Ballards Way to a point 5.5 metres north-east of the common boundary of Nos. 2 and 4 Crest Road.

Hamilton Road, Thornton Heath

Both sides, from its junction with Buller Road south-westwards for 7 metres.

Hillcroft Avenue, Purley

Both sides, from its junction with Smitham Bottom Lane for 20.4 metres south-westwards on the north-west side, and for 30.4 metres south-westwards on the south-east side.

Hillside Road, Coulsdon

Both sides, from its junction with Marlpit Lane south-westwards for 15 metres.

Homestead Way, New Addington

South side, for 7 metres either side of its junction of Walsh Crescent.

Hunter Road, Thornton Heath

• Both sides, from its junction with Buller Road south-westwards for 7 metres.

• Both sides, from its junction with Natal Road north-eastwards for 7 metres

King Henry’s Drive, New Addington

Extending the existing double yellow lines at its southernmost junction with Vulcan Way by 11 metres northwards.

Kitchener Road, Thornton Heath

• Both sides, from its junction with Buller Road south-westwards for 7 metres.

• The south-east side, from its junction with Natal Road north-eastwards for 7 metres.

Linden Avenue, Coulsdon

Both sides, from its junction with Chipstead Valley Road north-westwards for 10 metres.

Marlpit Lane, Coulsdon

Both sides, either side of its junction with Hillside Road/Stoneyfield Road for 15 metres.

Mersham Road, Thornton Heath

The south-east side, either side of its junction with Buller Road for 7 metres.

Milne Park East, New Addington

Both sides, from its junction with Arnhem Drive south-westwards for 15 metres.

Natal Road, Thornton Heath

• The north-east side, either side of its junction with Hunter Road for 7 metres.

• The north-east side, from its junction with Kitchener Road south-eastwards for 7 metres.

Parchmore Road, Thornton Heath

The north-east side, from a point 3 metres north-west of the common boundary of Park Lawn, No. 210 Parchmore Road and No. 212 Parchmore Road, south-eastwards for 10 metres.

Russell Green Close, Purley

Both sides, between the end of the red route at the junction with Purley Way and the existing dropped kerb outside No. 2 Russell Green Close.

St Dunstan’s Road, South Norwood

The south-west side, converting the length of single yellow line outside Nos. 29 to 33 St Dunstan’s Road to double yellow lines.

Stoneyfield Road, Coulsdon

Both sides, from its junction with Marlpit Lane north-eastwards for 15 metres.

Strathyre Avenue, Norbury

The north-west side, from a point 5.8 metres north-east of the south-western boundary of No. 1 Strathyre Avenue south-westwards for 14 metres.

The Vale, Purley

The north side, extending the existing restriction at the junction with Woodcote Grove Road eastwards by 10 metres.

Walsh Crescent, New Addington

Both sides, from its junction with Homestead Way southwards for 7 metres.

Windmill Road, Croydon

The north-west side, converting the length of single yellow line outside Nos. 63 and 65 Windmill Road into double yellow lines and introducing an additional permit/payment parking space (see Schedule 3).

(Extending existing single yellow line waiting restrictions)

Friends Road, Purley

The north-east side, extending the existing restriction that runs between its junction with Warren Road and No. 1 Friends Road by 2.5 metres at its south-eastern end (adjacent to the steps linking Friends Road and Cliff End).

SCHEDULE 3

(Introducing an additional payment/permit parking space)

Windmill Road, Croydon

The north-west side, converting the length of single yellow line outside No. 61 Windmill Road into a 5-metre permit/payment parking space.
