ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984-SECTIONS 14(1)(A), (7) AND 15(2)

THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (BETWEEN BILLESLEY AND BISHOPTON, WARWICKSHIRE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no.9346363) intends to make an Order on the A46 Trunk Road in the County of Warwickshire, to enable roundabout construction works to be carried out.

The effect of the Order, will be to, at different times, –

(1) impose a speed restriction of 40 miles per hour on the A46 between a point 1430 metres west of the centreline of its junction with Drayton Manor Drive, near Drayton, and a point 98 metres southwest of the centreline of its junction with the access road leading to Burton Farm, at Bishopton; and

(2) close –

(a) the A46 between its junction with the unnamed road leading to Billesley and its roundabout junction with the A3400 Birmingham Road, at Bishopton; and

(b) the layby on the southern side of the A46 approximately 60 metres west of the centreline of its junction with Drayton Manor Drive, near Drayton.

The work is expected to start on Monday 6 January 2025 and continue for approximately nineteen months. The carriageway closure will be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours. The speed restriction and layby closure will be in operation from 00:01 hours on Monday 6 January 2025, for twenty-four hours per day, for the duration of the works. The Order will come into force on 30 December 2024 and will remain in force for the duration of the work.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction and closures. Vehicles being used for special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction, and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures.

Diversion routes using the A435, the A4189 and the A3400 and vice versa will be signed. Local diversion routes will also be in operation. For further information please contact Harbinder Singh on 0300 470 081.
