PECKHAM ‘OFF-STREET’ CAR PARKS CHANGES
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 202*
1. Southwark Council hereby GIVES NOTICE that it proposes to make the above Order under sections 35 and 124, and Part IV of Schedule 9, of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Order will be to:-
(a) extend the area of the existing PECKHAM TOWN CENTER CAR PARK (Cerise Road, SE15), by an additional 8 ‘off-street’ pay-by-phone or PayPoint parking places, by including the ‘off-street’ area directly south-east of the junction of Cicely Road and Moncrieff Street;
(b) the above-mentioned extension will be completed under the overall update and consolidation of the London Borough of Southwark (Off-street parking places) Traffic Management Orders, so as to:- (i) remove the mention of car parks which are no longer managed or owned by Southwark Council, (ii) include the charges introduced in April 2024 by Public Notice under section 35C of the 1984 Act for parking and season ticket fees and the updated operating times (as detailed below) in the Council’s two ‘off-street’ Car Parks: Choumert Grove Car Park, and Peckham Town Centre Car Park, and (iii) include a map-based schedule for the Council’s two ‘off-street’ Car Parks: Choumert Grove Car Park, and Peckham Town Centre Car Park to improve the clarity of the parking and ‘no waiting’ restrictions within these car parks.
3. The charge for parking in either Choumert Grove Car Park or Peckham Town Centre Car Park is currently a flat rate of £2.50 per vehicle per hour (or £3.75 for diesel vehicles, per hour). Choumert Grove Car Park and Peckham Town Centre Car Park are open and operating Mondays to Saturdays (excluding bank holidays) between the hours of 08:30 am and 06:30 pm.

6. Anyone wishing to make any representations either for or to object to the proposal mentioned in 2(a) above of extending Peckham Town Centre Car Park, may use the form labelled 'Parking - Road traffic and highway schemes - responding to statutory consultation notices' at www.southwark.gov.uk/statutoryconsultationnotices or send a statement in writing to: the Traffic Orders Officer, Highways, Southwark Council, Environment, Sustainability & Leisure, P.O. Box 64529, London SE1P 5LX or traffic.orders@southwark.gov.uk quoting reference ‘TMO2425-024 Peckham off-street’ by 14 November 2024. Please note that if you wish to object to the proposal mentioned in 2(a) above of extending Peckham Town Centre Car Park, you must state the grounds on which your objection is made.
7. Under requirements of current access to information legislation, any letter, form or e-mail sent to the Council in response to this Notice may be subject to publication or disclosure, or both, including communication to other persons affected.
