– NOTICE OF MAKING
Amendments to parking places (disabled persons, payment parking and motorcycle), one way and road
closure restrictions at various locations.
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other powers, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Common Council of the City of London has made the orders set out in section 1 to this notice, with the effect set out in section 2 to this notice, by amending the orders set out in section 3 to this notice.
1. The following orders will be made and shall become effective on 31st October 2024;
(a) The City of London (Parking Places) (Amendment No. 18) Order 2024
(b) The City of London (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (Amendment No. 4) Order 2024
(c) The City of London (Free Parking Places) (Motor Cycles) (Amendment No. 11) Order 2024
(d) The City of London (One Way Streets) (Amendment No. 25) 2024
(e) The City of London (Prescribed Routes) (Road Closure) (Amendment No. 28) 2024
2. The orders set out in section 1 to this notice will have the following effect;
(a) Pepys Street to:-
(i) introduce a payment parking place on the north side, the north side, from a point 6.6 metres opposite a point east of the western flank wall of number 1 Pepys Street westward for a distance of 6 metres. The parking charge set out in Schedule 2 (as varied) of The City of London (Parking Places) (Consolidation No. 1) Order 2018 will apply;
(ii) extend the existing payment parking place on the south side, from a point 4.4 metres west of the western kerb-line of Savage Gardens by 6.5 metres in a westerly direction. The parking charge set out in Schedule 2 (as varied) of The City of London (Parking Places) (Consolidation No. 1) Order 2018 will apply;
(iii) re-position the existing motor cycle parking place on the south side adjacent to the north side of No. 10 Trinity Square by 6.5 metres in a westerly direction;
(iv) relocate existing disabled persons parking places by 0.6 metres in a westerly direction.
(b) Great Tower Street to revoke the one way restriction between a point 21 metres north-west of the western kerb-line of Mark Lane and its junction with Byward Street, excluding the bus route, from north-west to south-east.
(c) Hayne Street to revoke the no motor vehicles restriction operating at any time except for access on its entire length.
3. The orders will be made by amending the following orders;
(a) The City of London (Parking Places) (Consolidation No. 1) Order 2018
(b) The City of London (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No. 4) Order 2013
(c) The City of London (Free Parking Places) (Motor Cycles) (Consolidation No. 1) Order 2017
(d) The City of London (One Way Streets) Traffic Order 2015
(e) The City of London (Prescribed Routes) (Road Closure) (No.1) Order 2016 (as amended) Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 31st October 2024, the statement of reasons for making the Orders and plans can be inspected during normal office hours on Monday to Fridays inclusive for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made at the Planning Enquiry Desk, North Wing, Guildhall, London, EC2V 7HH or on the City of London website at www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/services/streets/traffic-schemes-and-proposals.

Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
