ROAD USER CHARGING
TRANSPORT FOR LONDON, as the charging authority for the Ultra Low Emission Zone (‘ULEZ’) and Low Emission Zone (‘LEZ’) road user charging scheme, hereby gives notice that the Greater London Low Emission Zone Charging (Exceptional Variation) Order 2024 (‘the Order’) was made on 21 August 2024 and was confirmed by the Mayor of London on 2 September 2024.
The Order came into force on the day after it was confirmed.
The Order amends the Greater London Low Emission Zone Charging Scheme Order 2006 which establishes the ULEZ and LEZ scheme and provides for a daily road user charge to apply to vehicles which are used within the respective zones and which do not meet the scheme’s vehicle standards (unless exempt or registered for a discount). The effect of the amendment is that the ULEZ grace period which applies to non-compliant minibuses operated by not-for-profit organisations for community transport purposes until 26 October 2025 is extended for two years to 24 October 2027.
