THE REDBRIDGE (WAITING, LOADING, STOPPING AND STREET PARKING PLACES) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2021 (AMENDMENT NO. 8) ORDER 2024
The Council of the London Borough of Redbridge, after consulting the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, in exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 6 and 124 of and Parts IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers, on the 21st February 2024 made the above-mentioned Order, the effect of which will be to:
1. Amend the vehicles permitted to travel during operational hours to local buses, taxis and pedal cycles only in the following bus lanes;
i. Chapel Road, the south-west side, between its junctions with Roden Street and Ilford Hill;
ii. Chapel Road, the east side, between its junctions with High Road and Clements Lane;
iii. Cranbrook Road, the west side, between its junctions with Bramley Crescent and the Gants Hill Roundabout;
iv. Cranbrook Road, the south-east side, opposite Nos. 575 to 635 Cranbrook Road
v. Ilford Hill, the north-west side, from its junction with Prior Road to outside No. 71 Ilford Hill;
vi. Ilford Hill, the north-west side, outside Nos. 73 to 79 Ilford Hill (in the central nearside lane);
2. Extend the existing bus lane in Chapel Road, the south-west side, between its junctions with Roden Street and Ilford Hill south-eastwards by a distance of 4 metres; 3. Extend the existing bus lane in Cranbrook Road, the west side, between its junctions with Bramley Crescent and the Gants Hill Roundabout southwards by a distance of 4.8 metres; 4. Amend the existing traffic order for the bus lanes mentioned in Section 1 of this notice so that their lengths are correctly reflected within the traffic order (inclusive of the extensions mentioned in Sections 2 and 3 of this notice).
A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 26th February 2024, together with the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order, the map schedules and map schedule legend indicating the locations and the effects may be examined at the Customer Centre, Lynton House, 255 to 259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NY Monday to Friday (except on Bank Holidays).
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court
