STATION ROAD, N11 - PROVISION OF PEDESTRIAN REFUGE ISLANDS AND THE INTRODUCTION OF ‘AT ANY TIME’ WAITING RESTRICTIONS

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield (the Council) propose to make the Enfield (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. *) Order 202* under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to introduce new “at any time” waiting restrictions in Station Road N11:

(a) On both sides of the road from a point 24.7 metres southeast of the southern kerb line of the southern entrance of the New Southgate Station service road, south eastwards for a distance of 26.6 metres; and

(b) On the northeast side of the road from a point 6.5 meters northwest of the southern boundary wall of No. 19 Whitmore Close generally north westwards for a distance of 23.8 metres.

3. FURTHER NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield intends to install:

(a) Pedestrian refuge islands to be located in

: (i) the middle of the carriageway at a point 38 metres southeast of the southern kerb line of the southern entrance of the New Southgate Station service road; and

(ii) the middle of the carriageway at a point 18.4 meters northwest of the southern boundary wall of No. 19 Whitmore Close.

(b) Kerb build-outs on both sides of the pedestrian refuge islands described in paragraph 3(a)(ii) above and either side of the most north westerly access to the builders merchants located 7.2 meters northwest of the southern boundary wall of No. 19 Whitmore Close on the south westly side of Station Road.

4. A copy of the proposed Order, plans and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order can be inspected at the Town Library, 66 Church Street, Enfield EN2 6AX, Monday to Fridays 9am – 5pm inclusive. Any person desiring to object to the proposed Order, or make any other representations in respect of it should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection stating the grounds thereof, to the Head of Highways, Traffic and Parking, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD, or to traffic@enfield.gov.uk quoting the reference TG52/1549, by 13th March 2024.
