WEST KENTISH TOWN AREA CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE ‘CA-L INNER’: EXTENDED PARKING CONTROLS

THE CAMDEN (PARKING PLACES) (QUEEN’S CRESCENT MARKET) (AMENDMENT NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 202*

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Camden proposes to make the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The general effect of the Orders would be to amend the controlled hours for Controlled Parking Zone ‘CA-L Inner’. This would amend the controlled hours for single yellow lines (indicating no waiting), residents permit holders parking places, paid-for parking places, shared use parking places and market trader parking places in the streets listed below:

Allcroft Road, Ashdown Crescent, Athlone Street, Bassett Street, Coity Road, Gilden Crescent, Grafton Road (between Vicar’s Road and Athlone Street), Queen’s Crescent (between Malden Road and Grafton Road), Rhyl Street, Warden Road, Weedington Road.

The restricted times for single yellow lines would be amended so that:

(i) where waiting is currently banned on Mondays to Fridays between 9am and 11am, waiting would be banned on Mondays to Fridays between 8.30am and 6.30pm;

(ii) where waiting is currently banned on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9am and 11am, on Thursdays between 7am and 5:30pm and on Saturdays between 7am and 6pm, waiting would be banned on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 8:30am and 6:30pm, on Thursdays between 7am and 6:30pm and on Saturdays remain restricted between 7am and 6pm;

(iii) where waiting is currently banned on Thursdays between 7am and 5:30pm and on Saturdays between 7am and 6pm, waiting would be banned on Thursdays between 7am and 6:30pm and on Saturdays remain restricted between 7am and 6pm; and

(iv) where waiting is currently banned on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 7am and 11am, on Thursdays between 7am and 5:30pm and on Saturdays between 7am and 6pm, waiting would be banned on Mondays to Fridays between 7am and 6:30pm and on Saturdays remain restricted between 7am and 6pm.

The restricted times for ‘CA-L’ permit parking places, paid-for parking places and shared use (‘CA-L’ permit and paid-for) parking places would be amended so that:

(i) where the use of parking places is currently restricted on Mondays to Fridays between 9am and 11am, their use would be restricted on Mondays to Fridays between 8.30am and 6.30pm; and

(ii) where the use of parking places is currently restricted on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9am and 11am, their use would be restricted on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 8:30am and 6:30pm.

Only vehicles in respect of which a valid ‘CA-L’ permit has been issued may be left in residents permit holders parking places when restricted.

Only vehicles in respect of which a valid parking session has been purchased may be left in paid-for parking places when restricted. Both these classes of vehicle may be left in shared use (‘CA-L’ permit and paid-for) parking places when restricted.

The restricted times for market trader permit parking places would be amended so that:

(i) where the use of parking places is currently restricted between 8:30am and 11am on Thursdays and Saturdays their use would be restricted between 8:30am and 6:30pm on Thursdays and between 8:30am and 11am on Saturdays; and

(ii) where the use of parking places is currently restricted on Mondays to Saturdays between 8:30am and 11am, their use would be restricted between 8:30am and 6:30pm on Mondays to Fridays and between 8:30am and 11am on Saturdays.

Any person wishing to object or make representations in respect of the proposed Orders should send comments in writing, giving reasons for any objection to traffic.orders@camden.gov.uk or by post to FREEPOST LBC TRANSPORT STRATEGY, to be received by the end of 8 March 2024.
