THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.152) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Barnet in exercise of powers conferred by Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to install Zebra Crossing on Nether Street N12 outside and opposite No,181 to No.189 Nether Street.
As a result of the Zebra Crossing mentioned above being introduced, the general effect of the Free Order will be to remove existing lengths of waiting restrictions operating ‘at any time’. A length of No Stopping restrictions operating 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday outside No.189 Nether Street N12, will also be removed.
FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet has made, on 8th February 2024, the above-mentioned Order under Section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
In order to deter obstruction, improve traffic flow and general road safety the general effect of the Free Order will be on an experimental basis introduce the following measures below:
(a) upgrade lengths of existing waiting restrictions operating 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday on both side of Nether Street N12 between the junctions of Essex Park and Moss Hall Grove to operate ‘at any time’.
(b) extend the existing ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions on both side of Bellevue Road at the junction of The Crescent N11 by approximately 3 metres.
(c) Upgrade and extend the existing waiting restrictions operating 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4.30pm Monday to Friday at the junction of Bellevue Road and Holly Park Road N11 to operate ‘at any time’.
In order to improve access and general road safety the length of the existing No Stopping restrictions operating 8am to 4.15pm Monday to Friday outside Childs Hill School on Greenfield Gardens NW2, will be extended. As a result of the No Stopping restrictions being introduced the general effect of the Charged -for will be on an experimental basis will remove two resident permit holders only parking bays operating 10am to 11am Monday to Friday outside Childs Hill Primary School on Greenfield Gardens NW2.
A copy of the Orders, which will come into operation on Monday 19th February 2024, a plan of the relevant areas and the Council's Statements of Reasons for making the Order can be obtained for a period of 6 months from the date on which this notice is published by emailing highwayscorrespondence@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 7th Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW, quoting reference: 2024_03 and 2024_04 MH
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any regulation made there-under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
The Orders provides that, in pursuance of Section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Chief Executive of the Council or some person authorised in that behalf by him, may, if it appears to him essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Order run, modify or suspend the operation of the Orders or any provision thereof.
If the provisions of the Orders continue in operation for a period of not less than six months, the Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely. Anyone who wishes to object to the making of such Order for the purpose of such reproduction and continuation in force may, within the period of six months from the date on which the Order came into operation, send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to Design Team, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW or via email to highwayscorrespondence@barnet.gov.uk
